Contrasted against a white canvas, the Spirit of Ecstasy, window surrounds, and door handles are a graphic shade of black. Artisans hand-prepare each handle with a light abrasive — providing a ‘key’ for the hard wearing primer — before applying four coats of black paint. The surfaces are then meticulously polished to match the rich, high-gloss coachwork.
Other subversive elements, including the chrome exhausts, are treated with a specific chrome electrolyte to create a mirror-black effect. The electrolyte is introduced to the traditional plating process and co-deposited on the stainless-steel substrate, darkening the finish. Its final thickness is
just one micrometre — around one-hundredth of the width of a human hair.
Standing self-assured in the Clock Cabinet, an up-lit Spirit of Ecstasy figurine is rendered in unapologetic black — recalling the darkened icon that commands the bonnet of all
Black Badge models.
Lit from below, the figurine demands attention beneath a darkened analogue timepiece, where her silhouette is further accentuated by the ethereal glow of the Illuminated Fascia.

Embellishing the seats, an interior of Duality Twill textile — a new rayon fabric crafted from bamboo — incorporates up to 2.2 million stitches and 11 miles of thread. The use of this material is a homage to the extensive bamboo grove in Le Jardin des Méditerranées on the Côte d’Azur, which neighbours Sir Henry Royce’sformer winter home, Villa Mimosa.
The textile is embroidered with distinctive ‘Duality’ graphics, carefully and individually sewn to ensure complete uniformity. The pattern’s inspiration is twofold: it serves as an abstract interpretation of the interlinked ‘R’ iconography of our co-founders’ initials, and also references the interweaving rope lines found on sailing yachts — a subtle allusion
to the French Riviera.

Finished in black, the Illuminated Grille is a commanding facade, emitting a radiant glow in darkness. Above the grille veins, a prominent ‘horizon line’ boldly frames the daytime
running lights.
A Bespoke lower air intake design creates an amplified exterior persona. The striking geometry of its widened veins serves as an overt expression of power.
Enhanced by the owner’s desired colour, the lower front bumper, sill, and valances visually lower the motor car, intensifying its dramatic and monolithic form.

From a distance, the wheel design appears to consist of five spokes finished in gloss-black and silver. In reality, 10 interwoven spokes exist within a carefully orchestrated interplay of polished, painted, negative, and recessed surfaces.
